Warzone contracts explained (and which to do)

Quick answer
Contracts are optional objectives picked up on the map that reward cash, gear and information. The most useful: Recon (reveals the next circle), Scavenger (easy cash to buy your loadout) and Bounty (hunt a player). A good early game runs 1-2 contracts to fund the loadout drop before looking for fights.
Contracts are optional objectives you pick up on the map. Used well, they fund your loadout drop and give you a head start. Here's how to use them.
What is a contract?
A short mission you activate on the map (ground icon). Once completed, it rewards a mix of cash, gear and sometimes information (next circle location). It's the economic engine of the early game.
The main types
- Scavenger / Resupply — collect crates: easy cash, ideal early.
- Recon — capture a point to reveal the next circle: a huge positioning edge.
- Bounty — hunt a marked enemy player: risky but well paid.
- Most Wanted — mark yourself as the lobby's target for a big reward: for the confident only.
(Exact types vary by season, but the logic stays the same: cash, gear, info.)
Why do them?
- Fund your loadout drop ASAP (priority #1, see our beginner guide).
- Anticipate the circle via Recon to dodge the gas and take good positions.
- Gear up without looting everything by hand.
Which to prioritize?
- Early game: Scavenger (cash) then Recon (circle info).
- In form and well-equipped? Bounty for XP and cash.
- Avoid Most Wanted if you're not sure you can hold: you become everyone's target.
