Quick answer

For clean aim on controller: keep aim assist on, use the Dynamic response curve (the pros' choice), a medium sensitivity around 6/6 (~1.6) to tune, a slightly lower ADS sensitivity (~0.85), deadzones as low as possible without drift, and switch to the Tactical layout so you can crouch without leaving the stick.

On controller, good settings can be worth hours of practice. Here's the base the best players use, to tune to your feel. (For smoothness, see our FPS settings.)

Sensitivity

  • Horizontal/vertical sensitivity: medium to start, around 6/6 (~1.6).
  • Golden rule: find a value you've mastered and stop changing it. Consistency beats speed.

Aim assist & response curve

  • Aim assist: on (standard). Help it with small left-stick movements for tracking.
  • Response curve: Dynamic — the choice of most pros.

ADS sensitivity

  • ADS multiplier: around 0.85, just below 1:1. A slightly slower aim = more precision in ranged duels.

Deadzones

  • Sticks: start at 0 and raise just enough to stop drift (the stick moving on its own). As low as possible = more responsiveness.
  • Triggers: lower the deadzone (toward 3) for snappier firing and aiming.

Comfort and layout

  • Vibration and trigger effects (PS5): off (better aim, less fatigue).
  • Button layout: Tactical — it lets you crouch/prone without leaving the aim stick, a real gain.
