The Warzone meta is the set of most effective weapons at any given moment. It shifts every patch: a buffed gun climbs, a nerfed gun falls. Here's the state of play in Season 6, up to date as of October 7, 2026. Our reference is the CODMunity ranking (updated September 30), used as is: tiers, builds and share codes.

The absolute meta right now

Only three weapons sit in the absolute meta — everything else, however good, is a notch below:

• Voyak KT-3 (AR) — Season 6's number one: the best assault rifle and the most-played weapon in Warzone (26.8% pick rate), with an EaseScore of 9.2.
• VMP (SMG) — the best SMG and the second most-played weapon (24.2%): the close-range reference.
• Strider 300 (sniper) — the only sniper rifle in the absolute meta.

The backbone of any serious BR loadout: a long-range AR + an aggressive SMG, or a sniper + a sniper-support weapon.

Weapons in the meta (A tier)

Right behind, seven weapons are strong depending on the situation:

• Close range: the MPC-25 (6.8% pick rate, EaseScore 8.4), the REV-46, the Ryden 45K and the Sturmwolf 45.
• Long range: the EGRT-17, very easy to handle (EaseScore 8.7).
• Sniper support: the Dravec 45 and the VX Compact, a newcomer to the meta.

The best assault rifles

The Voyak KT-3 rules alone: it's the best assault rifle according to CODMunity. The EGRT-17 (A tier) is the safest long-range alternative. Behind them, the MK35 ISR, the DS20 Mirage, the FG42 and the AK-27 are contenders (B tier): playable, but a notch below. The MXR-17 and the AN-94, long at the top, have fallen to C tier.

The best SMGs (close range)

The VMP is the best SMG of Season 6. In the meta right behind it: the MPC-25, the REV-46, the Ryden 45K and the Sturmwolf 45. The VST, the Carbon 57, the CBRS-3 and the Kogot-7 drop to contenders (B tier).

Snipers and sniper support

The Strider 300 is the only sniper in the absolute meta. The VS Recon, Hawker HX and XR-3 Ion are contenders (B tier). To cover close range next to a sniper, CODMunity puts the Voyak KT-3, the Dravec 45 and the VX Compact in the meta for the sniper-support role.

As for machine guns, the MK.78 is the best LMG right now (B tier).

The winning Season 6 loadout

The duo to copy without thinking: Voyak KT-3 (primary) + VMP (secondary). The Voyak holds long range, the VMP cleans up close range. Prefer sniping? Strider 300 + Dravec 45 or VX Compact. The exact build and share code for each weapon are in the meta loadouts tool.

What moved since our last ranking

Compared with our September 23 update:

• Leaving the absolute meta: the MK35 ISR (now B tier) and the REV-46 (A tier).
• Entering the meta (A tier): the VX Compact, a newcomer, and the Sturmwolf 45, climbing back.
• Falling to C tier: the MXR-17 and the AN-94.

Carry-forward guns worth using

Warzone runs on carry-forward: guns from Black Ops 6, MW3 and MW2 stay playable, even outside the meta ranking. The XM4 (BO6) even has its own full loadout guide — off-meta, but easy and always playable.

How to pick by role

• Carrying the team from range? Long-range AR (Voyak KT-3, or EGRT-17) + Strider 300.
• You're the aggressor? Close-range SMG (VMP, or MPC-25) + the Voyak KT-3 as primary.
• New to the game? Play it easy: the Voyak KT-3 (EaseScore 9.2) is both the meta's number one AND the most accessible; on the SMG side, the MPC-25 (8.4) is very forgiving.
