Release date: November 19, 2026 (official)

Rockstar set GTA 6's release for Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's the final date after two delays: the game first targeted fall 2025, then May 26, 2026, before slipping to November. Rockstar cited the need to finish the game to the level of polish expected (source: Rockstar Newswire).

Which platforms?

• ✅ PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — confirmed.
• ❌ PS4 / Xbox One — no old-gen version.
• ❓ PC — not announced at launch. Previous GTAs came to PC after consoles; a port is likely eventually, but nothing is official yet. Don't treat it as a given.

The characters: Jason and Lucia

GTA 6 stars Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal duo caught in a downward spiral after a score goes wrong. Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in the main series. Around them, Rockstar has teased a cast tied to street life, smuggling, music and high-end robbery.

The map: back to Vice City, in the state of Leonida

The game is set in a modern Vice City (GTA's Miami) within the state of Leonida (inspired by Florida). Teased locations include the Grassrivers (Everglades-style), the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
