GTA Online weekly update: how it works

Every Thursday, Rockstar refreshes GTA Online: new rewards, money bonuses, discounts and challenges. If you don't play daily, it's easy to miss the best deals. Here's what changes and how to get the most out of it.

The podium vehicle (Casino)

This is the reward everyone checks first. A car sits on the podium at the Diamond Casino: spin the Lucky Wheel (one free spin per day) and, with some luck, it's yours for free. Even without winning, it's usually the highlighted vehicle of the week.

The Prize Ride

A second free vehicle, unlocked not by luck but by completing a challenge: finishing near the top of a race series, winning several days in a row, and so on. Tougher, but guaranteed if you hit the goal.

GTA$ & RP bonuses (×2, ×3, ×4)

Each week, certain activities pay double, triple or quadruple money and experience: heists, business sales, community missions and more. This is the best time to grind. Spot the ×3 or ×4 activities and focus your sessions on them.

Discounts (Legendary Motorsport & businesses)

Rockstar applies discounts on a selection of vehicles (often via Legendary Motorsport), properties and business upgrades. If you were eyeing a purchase, wait to see if it goes on sale: reductions regularly reach -40 %.

The Gun Van

The Gun Van is a roaming weapon stock that changes weekly, with discounted guns (and sometimes exclusives). Worth checking if you want to round out your arsenal cheaply.

Prime Gaming & login bonuses

By linking a Prime Gaming account, you collect free GTA$ every week and sometimes extra discounts. Login bonuses also reward simply playing (cash, items, outfits).

How to benefit without grinding all week

1. On Thursday, check the list: spot the podium, the ×3/×4 bonuses and the useful discounts.
2. Spin the Lucky Wheel every day (free spin) to try for the podium car.
3. Focus your grinding on the boosted activities.
4. Link Prime Gaming for the free weekly cash.
